The Color of Horses (ok, dogs, too!)
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009The feedback I received from my post about the Healing Power of Horses had many questions concerning what I see when I look at the energy field of animals, particularly horses. When I first began discerning the energy of animals it was a bit of hit and miss because I do not get the same type of feedback as I get from humans! In a sense I do not get the verbal validation (although my cat, Fulton is sitting here as I type this dictating up a storm)…
Now, understand that this is not scientific, nor is it really documented anywhere, it is just how I see and discern the energy of the animal. I am fortunate because I do have people that will at least listen and help me understand what I see, in a sense interpret for me what is happening physically with the animal. That helps me establish a pattern, just as I have done with humans over the past ten years. I can look and discern if there is something systemic occurring in the animal or if it is more concentrated in a certain area.
It is interesting because horses have a different energy pattern than cows, although similar in what I will call a “corkscrew” effect from the head to the tail. Horses are a bit more complicated in patterns, but as I continue with my research I am beginning to think it is because they take on the tissue issues of people. Cows usually do not have the contact with humans that horses and other pets do, therefore their energy is not as interrupted.
I do not see the “rainbow” of colors as I see in the human auric field. I rarely see orange or yellow in the energy field, with the exception of pets that have taken on the lesson of diabetes. I remember being with Tom (Tom Lavelle is a large animal vet in Wytheville, Virginia) on a call and I saw a dog and then the owner and they both had the yellow around their middle that signifies diabetes! I did not realize at the time that dogs could manifest diabetes! And now I realize that other animals can develop it as well…
Predominantly, the colors that surround the larger animals are green and blue. When I see red, it often indicates pain or injury. I can often see if a mare is coming in heat because over her hip region there are often two red balls of energy. One side is often more intense than the other. Injury around a hoof or a joint can be identified with red around the area, but again, sometimes the red is from the “good leg” as it is being over-used or stimulated because it isn’t painful. (I told you it isn’t a science…yet!).
Green is the color of teaching, relationships and the color of unconditional love. So having green as a predominant color within the auric field of a horse does not surprise me at all. Also, blue is the color of healing but also the color of communication, loyalty and honesty. These are traits we all would like to associate with our animals! The energy as I see it corkscrews from the head (crown region right between the ears of the horse) and down the spine/back to the tail region.
Just as with our main energy centers, the main energy centers of the horse are not on their four legs initially. Our energy of course, flows down our left side and up to release out of our right side (which is why we receive from our left and release from our right)…Horses also flow from their left hooves to their right hooves. What I have discovered over the past two-three years is that our horses can manifest what is happening in our lives, so stop and take a moment to look at what issues your horse has experienced (or your dog for that matter!)…Sorry, cats are a whole other blog and I will let Fulton write that one as he will keep correcting me anyway! Lol)…
So, issues with lameness in your horse? Which hoof? Left side is about accepting or receiving and deals with the feminine energy…so look at a predominant female figure in your life. This could be YOU if you are a woman, or even feminine energy if you have a partner that has feminine tendencies…the right hoof is about releasing, letting go and represents the male energy.
Front hooves are about allowing opportunities to enter your life and back hooves are about thrusting or pushing through…really think about what the front hooves do in the role of moving a horse forward, horses even use their front hooves to show frustrations, while the back is the power behind the force…
If your horse has foundered, what is going on in your life that you do not feel you deserve? Also, inflammation, (founder is also referred to as laminitis) is a swelling inside the horse’s foot. In human’s any type of “-itis” is anger…so when there is this type of inflammation it can manifest from being overweight or horses that have had a recent change in diet (usually to richer grass or grain). As in anything though, the community of veterinarians have many causes…I look at the manifestation itself.
Colic is all about flow and allowing and it is interesting to see what is going on in your life when a horse manifests colic. It can indicate a fear of moving forward.
I just touched on a few things, but would like you to also think about your canine buddies and looking at their issues in regards to your own life lessons. It is similar and they are wonderful messengers we need to bless and love unconditionally in return.
Have a blessed week!
